Kaleseramik Stand by Demirden | ilio Wins an “Excellent Architecture” Award

Kaleseramik’s sustainability-focused UNICERA 2021 stand, developed within its “İyi Bak Dünyana” initiative, received an “Excellent Architecture” award at the German Design Award, one of the world’s most important design competitions.

Designed and realised jointly by Demirden | ilio, one of Türkiye’s leading design studios, and the Kaleseramik Concept and Visual Design Team, the UNICERA 2021 stand won in the “Excellent Architecture” discipline, “Fair and Exhibition” category.

Seeking to discover, showcase and recognise distinctive design trends, the German Design Award evaluates high-calibre entries in product and communication design each year.

The latest exhibition design for Kale, a leading company in ceramics and bathrooms, was realised at UNICERA, with design and implementation by Demirden | ilio.

Communicating Kaleseramik’s “İyi Bak Dünyana” positioning through a rational, innovative platform, the design also highlighted the responsibility to support sustainable production and consumption. Using 80% less flooring material and comprising 91% recyclable materials, the structure offered visitors a contemporary experience.

A digital experience corridor strongly conveying the “İyi Bak Dünyana” concept invited visitors into the main exhibition space. Animations featuring elements of nature and posters created specifically for the project by Demirden | ilio formed an effective layer of communication at the start of the visitor journey.

Decorative glass on the exterior defined the lightweight structure, while its transparency revealed the experience corridor to the outside and sparked curiosity.

After the corridor, visitors reached the centre of an exhibition composed of three main layers. Living spaces displaying new products reflected contemporary interior trends while also forming an outer shell around the exhibition area.

Along a long wall spanning the exhibition, named “İyi Bak Dünyana”, displays presented Kale’s environmentally friendly products, its relationship with art and design, and its social benefit projects. At the centre, new products were displayed abstractly through stylised references to nature.

Designed for reuse, the “İyi Bak Dünyana” wall construction offered a flexible, modular system that supported a sustainable spatial design strategy.

Raw timber planks joined through a carefully considered detail created a natural, welcoming platform for interaction. The “İyi Bak Dünyana” posters designed for the project by Demirden | ilio became an integral part of the structure, which also offered a contemporary platform for experiencing the brand’s communications.
