Even without major mistakes, there is always a risk of exceeding the budget or taking longer than expected. Creating a beautiful, functional kitchen requires informed decisions and confidence in the way forward. Begin by asking as many questions as possible and seeking the answers: what do you really expect from your kitchen, what difficulties might arise, and how can they be resolved? What Is Your Goal?

Be clear about your ultimate goal. Are you looking for lasting solutions that turn the kitchen into an efficient workspace, a stylish and practical layout that improves daily life, or a significant design investment intended to add value when you sell? Knowing the answer helps you and your architect focus on the right priorities. Honest answers guide decisions about quality, cost and style.

How Long Do You Plan to Live in the Home?

If you expect to live in the home for only a few years, you will probably favour a practical renovation with relatively modest costs and timeless, traditional choices. If you plan to stay longer, you may allocate a larger budget and create a kitchen you truly love.

Do You Have Children?

This answer helps clarify many other decisions, from storage and layout to safety and surface materials. If you have a large family, remain patient as the questions multiply. Where will you store every utensil and ingredient? Will you display your children's drawings on the walls?
