The Çan Dr. H. Ibrahim Bodur Ceramic Museum, which was founded by the Kale Group in 1996 in the gardens of the Kaleseramik factory in the Çan district of Çanakkale.
The works of artists who have been participating in the national or international Symposium of Ceramic Applications held since the foundation of the museum are exhibited.
Since 1997 the Kale Group has been organising the Symposium of Ceramic Applications, which begins a month before 27th July, which is the anniversary of the foundation of the Kale Group. The artists participating in the symposium stay for a month at a special facility on the grounds of the Çan Kaleseramik factory. The participants create their works using the factory's high technology Art Workshop. During the month that they stay at Çan, the participants visit surrounding places of historical and touristic value and organise conferences and slide shows in the Kaleseramik conference hall.
The first Symposium of Ceramic Applications was held in 1997, which was the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Kale Group, on an international level. In 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 the symposium was held at a national level and the works of the participating Turkish Ceramic artists have been exhibited at the museum and catalogues of the exhibitions have been published. In 2002 on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the group's foundation the symposium was held at an international level. Ten Turkish and ten foreign artists from Italy, Sweden, Latvia, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Egypt and the USA participated in the II Symposium of Ceramic Applications. The works of the artists, who worked for a month in the Kaleseramik Art Workshop, are being exhibited in the Ceramic Museum. The museum contains more than hundred pieces produced both by national and international artists.
The Kaleseramik Art Workshops are also being used by individual ceramic artists, not participating in the symposium.
