One thousand individuals from the local area joined forces as partners in the establishment of Yorsan Yenice Sunta ve Orman Ürünlerini Degerlendirme San.A.S. (Chipboard and Forest Product Utilization Industry Corp.) and this publicly owned company was thus formed in 1976.

The operational aims of Yorsan include the utilization of lumber and lumber waste materials derived from local forests, the establishment of production plants to produce chipboard, veneers, tempered, lathed, and standard building materials and furniture building materials; and to engage in the import, export, and trade of wood-based and other materials.

Yorsan also provides the packing materials and wooden pallets required by the Kale Group's producers of ceramic.
